1. What HexHunting is
HexHunting is a free, non-commercial game for a closed group. You capture hexagons by passing through them during a recorded sports activity. There is no prize, no entry fee and no guarantee of availability.
2. Account
- You are responsible for your password and for what happens with your account.
- One account per person. Accounts are not transferable.
- Participation from age 16.
- Choose a display name that is not offensive and is not someone else's name.
3. Fair play
- Only activities you actually completed under your own power count.
- No manipulated or invented routes, and no car, scooter or train trips uploaded as rides.
- Virtual activities (trainer, treadmill) do not earn hexagons.
- No attempts to abuse or overload the site, the database or other people's accounts.
- In case of abuse the administrator may delete activities, hexagons or the entire account.
4. Safety comes before the game
Hunting hexagons is no reason to ride faster, more recklessly or with your phone in your hand. You follow traffic rules and the rules of the area you enter. Participation is entirely at your own risk; the administrator is not liable for accidents, damage, fines or injuries.
5. What others see
Other players see your display name, the hexagons you own, your points and your position in the rankings. They do not see your activities, routes, email address or explored map.
6. Strava
HexHunting uses the Strava API but is not part of Strava and is not endorsed by Strava. Strava's own terms apply to your Strava account. You can disconnect at any time.
7. Rules may change
The administrator may adjust the rules, the scoring, the hexagon size and the start date, and may recalculate or reset the game. This is announced in the group beforehand. No rights can be derived from earlier standings.
8. Ending your participation
You can delete your account yourself at any time from your account page. The administrator may stop the game or terminate an account in case of abuse.
9. Applicable law
Dutch law applies to these terms.
